Best MBA Degree Programs? Do online grad degrees seem a dime a dozen??

I have recently graduated with my bachelors degree in Business Management and am questioning what to do about grad school. Online courses with someone like University of Phoenix sounds convienient and yet, I am worried that they are a diploma mill and viewed as such by employers. Does attending a local university and obtaining an MBA hold more weight in the business world?

An employer is most likely not going to respect an online MBA degree from University of Phoenix. Since I know how much University of Phoenix costs, I would wonder about the UoP MBA graduate’s cost management skills.
Why spend over $700 per semester credit hour for an MBA program that is not AACSB accredited? Especially when there are AACSB accredited programs that are much cheaper. For those who don’t know, AACSB accreditation is an additional program accreditation for business programs. It is over and above regional accreditation. I believe that all big state universities have AACSB accreditation for their business programs.
If you have the option of attending your local university, that would probably be best. If you have to attend online, Mississippi State University has an AACSB accredited MBA program for $444 per semester credit hour. http://www.distance.msstate.edu/

The short answer is Yes, definitely.
But it depends on your career goals. On-line may go faster depending on your motivation and you won’t have to move to go to a program that accepts you. Going to school in person helps you to develop relationships with others and to find people who are like minded.
I would recommend going to school over an on-line course 9 out of 10 times. If you are someone who is unable to dedicate the time to grad school and need to move at your own pace (for example if you’ve got kids at home and the only time you can work is after they go to bed) then on-line is for you. Other than that, all the advantages are in the grad school experience.
Also, I think those on-line places are pretty expensive but I’m not sure of the comparison.
yes, and for the "real" school, the school matters too. You will NEVER get a good job at a big firm with an MBA from Univ of Phoenix. They will just laugh,
I would regard online universities as the absolute last resort for someone seeking higher education.
The quality of education these programs offer is minimal – there is simply no substitute for the kind of dynamic interactions and discussions that commonly occur in face-to-face college courses. Also, the quality of educator is significantly less at online universities – the best faculty choose to teach at real colleges and universities. Both the pay and work environments are far superior to online universities. So, for great classes from great instructors, go to a real college or university.
Also, because of the minimal training they offer, employers and graduate institutions place little value in degrees earned from online programs. Many of these programs lack even basic accreditation for the degree programs they offer.
Bottom line – you will receive little if any personal or professional benefit from online universities relative to what you could have received from a real college or university.
