Troy is a third tier regional public university. An online degree from Troy will carry the same weight as an in-person degree. By that, I mean that you will be able to tell people you have a real college degree — and that is about it. It is hardly a prestigious school.

I go to University of Phoenix online. I have never had any major problems and I will be graduating in May, then moving on to pursue another degree with the same university. Online education requires much dedication and discipline. It is not "on your own terms" like many colleges states. From UoP you can transfer your credits to any accredited school, but you dont necessarily have to go to a traditional university. At UoP they offer many different courses in many majors to suit your individuality. The one con is that school never breaks. You end a course on a Sunday, and begin your next on Monday. You can request time off with a legitimate excuse, but I wouldnt get used to it. I never have problems with my financial aid, and they do all of my paperwork for me, including my tax statements.
