You can certainly take these courses online as there are colleges that offer these courses by providing you 100% classroom facilities. All you need to do is select good college that offers such course, Don’t fall for any scams as they may hurt your badly. To find the list of top accredited colleges that offer courses online go to http://www.thedegreeexperts.com/online-college.aspx .

    Was nice helping.

you can not take these classes on line because of the lab components of these classes.

Ohmygoodness… they’re EVERYWHERE… and, yes, even with labs (though you’d have to arrange with some local college/university for some lab time).

Just find almost any accredited college/university which offers such courses in the classroom, and which also offers online degrees, and they will almost CERTAINLY offer those courses.

While you read that… I’m gonna’ go look something up… so check back….

    [moments pass]

…okay I’m back. I was hoping that a certain school which has very reasonable tuition would have them, but they’re not offering them this semester (or next, it looks like… they’re both on hold). Whenever they’re back, though, it looks like that school offers a 200 and 300 level biology course, and 100, 200, and 300 level chemistry courses. Part of the reason I checked with that school, in addition to its reasonable tuition, is because that school has, right in its catalog, how to go about taking one of its courses which require lab work, and then arranging lab time at a college or university which is close to the student. They have a form the student fills-out, and then they issue a letter of request on behalf of the student, and they help make the arrangements… it’s all very cool. Works fine.

And, yes, the school I’m talking about is regionally accredited.

People (including one here, obviously) have very limited notions about what’s possible via distance learning. These days, given the technology, almost ANYTHING is possible. ANYTHING! Dont’ be misled.

    Hope that helps!

P.S. I just called someone I know at the school I checked, above, and asked, simply, why those courses were on hold. She pointed out that if I had been paying better attention, I’d have noticed that about one-third more than usual courses are on hold there… mostly for budgetary reasons.

Like most schools, hers is having troubles in this economy. She said that courses with labs are expensive to administer (hence the higher-than-in-a-classroom-course lab fees); and so when things are tough, economically, those kinds of courses are the easiest to suspend, and so are the first to be put on hold.

And she said she’s not sure when they’ll be back; that they’re definitly out of the question for the 2010/2011 school year, and the 2011 summer sessions. She said no decision has been made for the fall of 2011.

So, if that’s true for other schools, then maybe they’re NOT "everywhere" anymore… at least for a while. If not, then my apologies. And if not, then maybe they can’t, temporarily, be had anywhere.

I’m gonna’ do some more searching, though, just for grins. I’m a little bothered that distance learning labs for biology and chemistry courses have become hard to find all of a sudden.
