It will depend on WHAT and WHERE you want to study as the criteria to be accepted will vary a lot.
Also, when deciding on what to study you really need to consider what you are interested in, if you will have the motivation and dedication to stick with it when the going gets tough and also the ability. (eg: doctor is a great profession, but we don’t all have what it takes..)
Maybe you should first consider doing an Access course at college but I think they only offer a full-time day time option. So, instead, maybe study part time to complete your A-levels. You will receive more ‘supported’ learning this way as an introduction back to study. It will also be a cheaper way to see if you have the time and inclination to study and give you more time to decide what you’d like to do.
Also, if you do access, foundation or A-level study, the college helps you apply to university s well as providing you with the necessary references.
Another option is to consider a career that only needs a certificate or diploma.
You shouldn’t have a problem getting a student loan. There are also student grants available and other bursaries for people with children. I’ll try to locate the website….

Yes. Once you’re over 19 you’re counted as a mature student for entrace purposes.
It would be a good idea to do an access course or something to get back into studying though.
Then there’s always the Open University. You don’t have to have anything to study with them if you start at the bottom level. If you live in the UK it’s possible you can get a grant to cover the fees.
yes. start at a lesser school and get better as you go a long. night school does sound right to me.
Your future seems bright, i think you can study for a degree without A levels, but it is wise to get your A levels first, you know just in case. Not exactly sure how much help this can be but Good luck
