If you enroll in an online program at a college or university that also has campus locations that school should use your credits towards a degree if you choose to attend in person at a later date. Transferring credits from one school to another becomes a bit more tricky regardless of whether the credits were earned online or on campus as some colleges do not offer credits for classes they do not offer themselves. But there is no added difficulty transferring credits from an online program as long as the college is regionally accredited.

Based on what you say in your question I would think an associate degree program might be a good fit for you. Associate degree programs typically require half the credits of a bachelors degree. They therefore typically take half the time (2 years) to complete but there are some accelerated programs that let you finish even quicker than that. The nice thing about associate degree programs is that at the end you have a degree that looks good to potential employers and if you choose to go back to school or continue your education at the end of the program all of the credits can be used towards completion of a bachelors degree.
This site has some good information on regionally accredited colleges offering associate degree programs online:

Good Luck!

At my university, online classes and in-person classes were separate - taught by different professors, covered material at a different rate, kept separate class rolls. It was not an option to just start showing up halfway through the semester - it was a different class.

I have, and dont let my story discourage you. I was doing fine, it is hard to manage your time between work, family, and school, but it can be done. My problem was Algebra and Finite math, they were hard classes for me, but at the time I was also working mandatory 14 hours a day, plus one of my days off, I had to choose. I chose work, funny cuz I got fired a few months ago.
But I did manage to do it for a while. I dont know if it was the hard math, or the work stress, whatever I dropped out. I have thought about Colorodo Tech, so it is accredited?

Go back to school!! Most (if not all) those online schools for your HS diploma aren't recognized, basically you fork out $1,000's to get their "diploma" but because they aren't accredited that "diploma" is nothing more than a sheet of paper. Your other option would be to take the GED, but you are so close!!

My husband is studying for the GED and our state's education website has TON's of warnings about these online schools...

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

To get further information take a look at:

http://www.threehosts.com/publish

You need a web hosting service which supports online payments like, Master Card, Visa & PayPal. It is very important that your service be uptime. It means that you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and your visitors can view your website whenever they type your website address. If your hosting service is not uptime it is real hell!

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

Take a look at:

http://www.threehosts.com/business

There you can reach the three reputable companies that are leaders in the E-commerce web hosting industry. They fulfill all your requirements to sell online or do/accept any online payments. By using each of them, everything you need for such a website is provided in one business Hosting Package.

Hope this helps.

"Try before you buy" is the answer to that kind of service.
I would have a few "shorten" videos of some lessons.
The client can view part of the video, then the video stops.
If the client wants to continue, he has to pay.
That payment gives him the access to the full video.
Use a system of registration, with or without IP recording, and payment.
Although these scripts are for free, I offer Php scripts on my site: http://www.web2coders.com.
Visitors have the chance to RUN the script ("TRY") before they download the code ("BUY").

Three options:
1. There are lots of "Site Builders" out there for people who don't know how to build sites. They are usually free but all the pages they build look the same, and crappy. Plus adding a shopping cart to one of these is going to be difficult if even possible.
2. Choose a language (I'd recommend php, as it's one of the easier web languages to learn). Buy books on PHP and HTML, learn how to program both. It is gonna take you quite a while to learn this and build your self, but doable for the reasonably intelligent. If this is the only website you are ever going to build, it probably isn't worth your time and effort.
3. Pay someone to do it. Probably cost anywhere between $1500 and $2500. I'm available if you are interested. mikedavis80 at gmail.

www.SamWilson3D.com can build that site for a very reasonable price - around $500 to $600 depending on features and such
