What was the length of the course in weeks? Do you feel that online learning, overall, provides as much educational value as traditional ("onground") learning?

The purpose of the question: I would like to know if students feel they spend less time in online classes than in traditional classes. If the overall educational value was also thought to be about the same, this might imply students would rather learn online.

Example: 3-credit online Business Ethics class takes 6 hours per week for 8 weeks. Onground course in Management requires 3 hours in class, plus 4 hours outside class for 16 weeks. Overall educational value: about the same.

I did very poorly my first semester at college. I did so bad that I can't even make it in to the school I WANTED to go to. I completely lost it and have no idea what to do. I honestly have strong reason for not wanting to attend my current college for another semester. It would be my very last option. I am also going through a hard time emotional right now as well.

There are three classes I failed. I was going and accepted into elementary ed program and realized halfway through I didn't want to be a teacher. I would love to do something with web-design, graphics, or even just a business degree for now. The problem is I can't make it into the college I want. I was wondering if I took online course at University of Phoenix if I could make up for the grades or raise my GPA high enough to get into the college I want. Does anyone know anything about online classes or other options besides going back to my current school?

Ok here is the thing, I am not interested in something like University of Phoenix or any other school that ONLY offers online degrees. I have asked my boss, my mother in law who runs her own business and my Aunt that owns her own community college and all three said they do not take candidates with degrees from schools that only offer online classes serious. I already have my degree in acounting and I was finishing up my bachelors in Human Resource but now I have to move from Ohio to California. It seems like most of the major California Universities are not letting me transfer my credits from my current University, so I am hoping I can find a major university that offers all online courses that I can get to transfer at least half of my credits.

So does anyone know any major Universities be they ivy league, private or state run that offer all online programs?
